2013 May 31, Patrick’s Point and Trinidad, CA

Yippee, Cousin Carolyn and hubby Dave are RVing near us – they are parked at Patrick’s Point State Park about 27 miles north of us.  Packed up about noon and drove up there.  Found their campsite and took a walk to see the views.  This is a beautiful state park with large, mostly secluded campsites with beautiful scenery!

As we are walking toward the cliff-edge, I spot more flowers.  Can’t believe the beauty and huge variety of flowers here in CA.  Just incredible.

A block or so from their campsite is this incredible view!  In the next photo, you can see a man in a green shirt down on the beach – gives you a bit of perspective on the size of this beach!  (Focus on the bushes in the lower part of the pix – about in the middle to see the man).  WOW!

Wild iris and not sure about the one below it.

We take the truck and go to Patrick’s Point itself.  Seals (?) enjoy the sun.  Cool and breezy up here, though!

At the tip of the green land winding itself around the curve on the right – at it’s very tip is a county party.  See pix below taken from this location.

Here’s Dave and Jerry checking out the wave action.

Looking for agates and other pretty stones.  Know I found at least one.  I think we spent about an hour sifting through the pebbles.  Was warm and sunny sitting on the beach.

Pretty piece of driftwoods holds what I’m sure is an agate.  Other interesting driftwood and “maybe agates.”

Other interesting stones.  Never as pretty when you get them home…lol.  Although they are lovelier in person than in this pix.  It’s so addictive – like seashell hunting on the beach.

About t 5 pm, we forced ourselves to go back to the truck with our treasures and look for some food.  Seascapes in Trinidad, about 5 miles away was recommended, so we traveled there.  This is the pier and view from our table in the restaurant.

The clam chowder was awesome and my salmon was fresh-caught.  A great time was had by all!  Nice  touch – they provided binocs to check out the scenery.
