Getting ready.  J unloaded the Beemer about 9:30 am.  Diesel (Stormy's rescue dog) helped!

On the road

The trees here are still colorful and the roads are twisty-turney enough to keep Jerry entertained!  We wind our way through Sumter National Forest - just over the SC border into NC.  It is cool - probably mid 50's.  Glad for several layers.  The sun is warming!

We stop at Whitewater Falls in the Nat. forest.  The view from the falls area is breathtaking!

The falls are the tallest...lots of water gushing down the mountainside.  Jerry and Mike hiked to the beginning and decided not to cross over to the other side, as there was quite the volume going over slippery rocks.

After a while, we headed to Isaqueena Falls.  Jerry, Stormy and Mike are walking over the little bridge toward the falls.

These falls are so pretty as they are nestled in the woods.  Not as large or spectacular as Whitewater Falls, but charming.

The sunlight coming through the trees at just the right angle fascinates me.  Magical!

Stopped at a little general store for coffee and a fried apple pie.  Then on through Valhalla and back to our houses.  A beautiful ride!  Happy hour, wonderful grilled brats with kraut, beans and potato packets!  Pudding shots for dessert.  We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and good times.
