It was a gorgeous day for a ride, so we got on our bikes about 9:45 and met others to ride to Anderson for a Veterans Home fundraiser. We were told we had no taillight...brake light worked, though. At a gas station, we tried to take the light out to replace it. Well, after much todo (love the German technology) we got it out but it is a weird # light, so we didn't get it replaced after all.
Rode 1-1/2 hr to Anderson and finally found the meeting place...2000 some bikes already there. At the safety meeting, we decided we didn't want to ride in this procession. ..5 mpr and "tight." Sounded like a disaster waiting... Since the fundraiser was for the Vets Fundraiser was for the Vet's Home - toiletries since they no longmeer are provided for the residents, we had purchased donations. Found some nice bikers who were willing to take our donations to the home at the end of the ride.
Home by 4 pm after beautiful scenery - starting to get chilly - glad we decided not to do the ride as it would have been at least 5:30 before arriving.
Made our shrimp and grits again - what an awesome dish. Yummmmy
Monday, November 12
Mike and I did a grocery run early in the am. Jerry helped Mike build shelves in the garage in the pm. I worked on genealogy. Rainy. Got our tanks pumped out right before suppertime. Yea!
